Revit MEP 2010 Fundamentals Training Program

1. Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart – Initial Training for all MEP Disciplines

Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart is hands-on training designed to serve as a launching pad that will introduce MEP professionals from all disciplines to Revit MEP 2010.

  • Module 1 provides an introduction to the concept of Building Information Modeling (BIM), and a thorough examination of the Revit user-interface.  We will discuss the best practice methods for creating and organizing views of your model, creating new projects and linking files into Revit MEP projects.
  • Module 2 introduces Revit’s editing tools, callouts, details, annotation, and dimensioning.  Other topics covered in Module 2 include recycling existing AutoCAD details, creating construction documents and printing.
  • Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Windows XP or Vista and a firm grasp of MEP engineering processes and terms.
  • Course Length: Composed of (2) 3-hour modules.  Modules may be scheduled on separate days.  Homework may be assigned.
  • Course Fee: $245.00 per individual (Introductory Rate)

Note: Completion of Modules 1 and 2 of Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart is a prerequisite for all other Revit MEP 2010 courses.

2. Discipline-Specific Training

Revit MEP 2010 – Mechanical is hands-on training designed to introduce Revit MEP 2010’s HVAC features and processes.

  • Module 1 focuses primarily on building performance analysis.  Topics include defining spaces and zones to create analytical building models, specifying and calculating heating and cooling loads as well as exporting/importing data to/from third-party programs.
  • Module 2 gets down to the nuts and bolts of HVAC System creation with Revit MEP mechanical settings, equipment placement, HVAC system creation and modification, creating and modifying ductwork, tagging and scheduling.
  • Prerequisite: Completion of Modules 1 and 2 of Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart training
  • Course Length: Composed of (2) 3-hour modules.  Modules may be scheduled on separate days.  Homework may be assigned.
  • Course Fee: $295.00 per Individual (Introductory Rate)

Revit MEP 2010 – Piping/Plumbing/Fire Protection is hands-on training that examines Revit MEP’s pipe settings, introduces the processes for placing and connecting piped equipment, creating, modifying and sizing mechanical system piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems.  Topics will also include controlling pipe display, tagging, and scheduling.

  • Prerequisite: Completion of Modules 1 and 2 of Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart training
  • Course Length: (1) 3-hour module.

Revit MEP 2010 Electrical offers hands-on training designed to introduce the recommended workflows and tools used to create, modify, and tag electrical devices and fixtures, create circuits, wires, balance loads, generate panel reports, and fixture schedules.  We will also use custom conditional and circuit schedules to assist in the design process.

  • Prerequisite: Completion of Modules 1 and 2 of Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart training
  • Course Length: (1) 3-hour module.

3. Revit MEP 2010 Wrap up – Advanced Topics for all MEP Disciplines

Revit MEP 2010 Wrap Up offers hands-on training on advanced topics that concern all MEP Disciplines.  Module 1 covers best practices for collaboration.  We work with architect’s and structural engineer’s models to linked files, copy/monitor, perform coordination review, and interference detection.  Module 2 will offer best practices for worksharing – how multiple project team members share a single MEP project and wrap up with examination of basic editing of Revit family components.

  • Prerequisite: Completion of Modules 1 and 2 of Revit MEP 2010 Jumpstart training
  • Course Length: Composed of (2) 3-hour module.  Homework may be assigned.
  • Course Fee: $295.00 per Individual (Introductory Rate)
